The Return of the Violin Event: An Evening of Film, Food, and Music

On April 30, 2017, The Boston Jewish Film Festival hosted a premiere screening of a remarkable documentary, The Return of the Violin.

This moving and riveting documentary tells the story of the 1713 Stradivarius violin originally played by 9 year-old Polish Jewish prodigy Bronislaw Huberman, who later became the founder of today’s Israeli Philharmonic. The violin was stolen twice during Huberman’s ownership and later put up for sale as a museum piece before being purchased by one of the world’s most celebrated violinists, Joshua Bell, whose playing illuminates the film.
